This Blog's Philosophy

For a more human web.

Jeffrey DinackusAugust 15, 2025

These days the internet is full of content but lacking substance.

I partially blame search engines and algorithms; they prioritize low quality content by having search results rank higher if you spend a lot of time on them without clicking back.

No AI was used in research or writing of any blog in any way, it is only used for images.

The only computer interference in the writing of this blog is the basic windows spellchecker that tells me if I spelled a word glaringly wrong and will embarrass myself.

I also do not use Grammarly.

There are spelling and grammar mistakes in this blog, what matters in this blog are the ideas being expressed, and not being overly focused on any one blogs proofreading allows me to create more blogs with less time on each blog, without sacrificing the quality of the ideas being expressed.

I write the vast majority of these blogs as a stream of consciousness that would be a first draft.

Ideas are prized, I am not playing an algorithm, I desire a more authentic, more useful, more human web, and I am doing my part to make that happen.

I would say about 98-99% of the blogs and news articles that I read have far, far too much fluff that detracts from the ideas they are expressing and these extra words are basically useless to the reader.

I want the information I want, and I want it now.

A search result I spend 3 seconds on and tells me exactly what I need is superior to pages I spend 30 seconds before I can get the snippet of information I need.

They are basically adding fluff so you’ll spend more time on the page before clicking back which will improve their SEO for them, with the byproduct of wasting the time of the user.

Compounded over time, huge amounts of user time has been lost this way.

I almost feel as if these practices are draining peoples lives away.

We spend all day consuming the algorithm rather than living life authentically, enhanced by technology.

If I am going to spend a lot of time on a page, I want it to be thought provoking, which is where I hope this blog comes in.

I think that has largely been lost on the web.
