CompTIA Project+ and CompTIA Server+ will Require Renewal Starting October 1, 2025
Some of the last useful lifetime certs are going to CE.
PSA: Server+ and Project+ go to CE (continuing education) status on October 1 2025.
This means if you earn these certs after September 30th, you will be required to renew every three years.
Nows the time to earn them to get that sweet lifetime status!
It's unfortunate this is happening because these are some of the last somewhat decent lifetime certs.
It's speculated that the CE change to Project+ and Server+ is due to making them eligable for DoD accreditation.
Something interesting is that current holders will be able to earn a CE version of the cert by completing CEUs.
Before you do this, make sure you won't be "rolled over" to CE and lose your lifetime versions of the cert.
After these go to CE, the best remaining lifetime certs that are available to the average technician will be AZ-900 and MS-900, as well as the other Microsoft foundational certs for the right person.
I believe the foundational Microsoft certs are only lifetime "in theory," as Microsoft admits that one day they will retire them when they are no longer relevant and you will lose your certification.
If I got 5 years out of my MS 900 and AZ 900, that would be nice.
